Flagstaff Intermunicipal Partnership

Flagstaff Intermunicipal Partnership (FIP) was formed in 2003 and was originally comprised of one elected official and one CAO from each of the 11 municipalities within the Flagstaff region:  Village of Alliance, Town of Daysland, Flagstaff County, Village of Forestburg, Village of Galahad, Town of Hardisty, Village of Heisler, Town of Killam, Village of Lougheed, Town of Sedgewick, and Village of Strome.  The main objective of the group is to collaborate and interact with our neighbors to achieve long term sustainability as a regional community.

On January 1, 2016 the Villages of Galahad and Strome reverted to hamlet status and became part of Flagstaff County.

Today, our membership consists of the following municipalities:

Battle River Alliance for Economic Development (BRAED) provided the group with a start-up grant of $2000 to develop a plan.  With the assistance of Austrom Consulting Ltd., the committee held a workshop and planning session and was able to access funding through the Alberta Municipal Affairs Regional Partnership Initiative.
